The Ubuntu team announced the release of Ubuntu 18.04.5 and Ubuntu 16.04.7 last night.
While Ubuntu 16.04.7 comes with only security package updates and other fixes, Ubuntu 18.04.5 includes an updated hardware enablement stack from Ubuntu 20.04.
Download Ubuntu desktop, Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu for Raspberry Pi and IoT devices, Ubuntu Core and all the Ubuntu flavours. Ubuntu is an open-source software platform that runs everywhere from the PC to the server and the cloud. I want to install ubuntu 18.04 LTS on my computer. But I am a little worried about system requirements. I can find 'Recommended' System Requirements on ubuntu website. But I am unaware of 'Minimum. Ubuntu 18.04 codename Bionic Beaver is the Long Term Support (LTS) edition. This Ubuntu version will be supported for the next 4 years. We dedicate this page for Ubuntu 18.04 users. This is not surprising considering the logic behind the codename and versioning of Ubuntu releases. If you are using the Ubuntu 20.04/18.04 LTS server without a Desktop environment, that means in the command line, then there is a simple way to install Gnome desktop GUI on it. Gnome Desktop recently has launched 3.38 Orbis with some nice list of changes, however, yet, it is not available to install manually.
With Linux Kernel 5.4, WiFi should work out-of-the-box in Ubuntu 18.04.5 with RTL8723DE (tests in my HP 246 G6 laptop).
